Operation School Bell®

Operation School Bell, our major philanthropic program, provides children in need new school clothing to enhance their self-esteem and encourage regular school attendance.  School personnel from El Paso County public schools, Big Sandy public schools in Elbert County, Dale House School in Colorado Springs, and Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind refer children, K-12, to this program.  Each child is given new clothing (a winter jacket, two pairs of pants, two tops, five pairs of underwear, six pairs of socks, a hat, gloves, and a hygiene kit).  Pikes Peak Auxiliary of Assistance League of Colorado Springs provides grade-appropriate books, school supplies, or backpacks.  During the past 40 years, approximately 69,900 children have been clothed at a cost of over $3,292,000.  Last year we served 2,474 children.
